Marketing strategy

Marketing strategy first: before you spend a dinar, know who for and why

The biggest waster of marketing budgets: starting execution before answering two questions. Who are we selling to, and why would they buy from us rather than anyone else. Strategy is the written answer to those two, and everything after it is built on top.

Step one is a free diagnosis, no commitment.

If this is your situation, we're talking about the same thing

  • You've tried every channel and none of them worked properly
  • You can't say precisely who your ideal customer is
  • You compete on price because there's no other reason to pick you
  • Every month brings a new plan, because there was never a plan

What you actually get

  1. Real market and competitor analysis

who does what, and where the gap is

  2. Precise audience definition

who, where, what hurts, what stops them buying

  3. Offer and messaging

why you and not them, in a sentence a customer understands

  4. A customer journey map from first hearing about you to paying
  5. A prioritised channel plan with proposed budget and target numbers
  6. A written document you can execute yourself or hand to anyone

And what does it not solve alone?

Honestly: Marketing strategy on its own does not necessarily fix sales. Marketing is an interconnected network, and every link strengthens the next. These are the links that work with this service, and why:

Questions that always come up

What's the difference between strategy and a content plan?

Strategy answers who, why, and with what message. A content plan answers what to post and when. The second is built on the first, and when people start with a content plan and no strategy, they post a lot and sell nothing.

Do you execute the strategy or only write it?

Both are available. Some clients take the document and run it with their own team, others continue with me. I'll say it plainly: a document that sits in a drawer is worthless, so if you have nobody to execute it, tell me at the start.

How long does it take?

Two to four weeks, most of it spent on research and interviews rather than writing. I need access to your real numbers and one or two sessions with you. Without those the document turns generic and useless.
